Planning Grace’s Surgery
We took Grace up to Sydney to meet with her cardiothoracic surgeon, Dr. Nunn, today.
Dr. Nunn explained the details of Grace’s upcoming surgery to us. Basically, he will be sewing a patch into the hole between the top two heart chambers and sewing the hole between the bottom two chambers closed. He has done this operation over 200 times in the last 15 years, and will have done it at least 5 times this year by the time he gets to Grace. It’s good to know he’s well-practised!
Grace has been booked in for surgery on the 21st of March. Dr. Nunn expects the surgery to last around 4 hours. Grace will likely remain in intensive care for 2 or 3 days, and if all goes well will be home 10 days after the surgery.

Grace’s Christening
Grace was christened at the Kiama Catholic Church on Sunday, the 17th of February.
We were blown away by the number of friends and relatives that were able to make it to Kiama to spend this special day with Grace. With so many caring people to help look after her, we’re sure she’s got it made!

Cheeseburger Pie
| Ingredients |
Pastry:
- melted butter
- milk (not much)
- 2 cups flour
Filling:
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 cup grated onion
- 1 tablespoon mustard
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon parsley
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/3 cup tomato sauce
- 1 cup white breadcrumbs
- 1/2 kg mince
- grated cheese
- salt

| Pastry: |
- Mix melted butter through flour.
- Add milk and keep mixing until it forms a dough.
- Pat down into a greased tin, covering the bottom and sides.
Filling:
- Combine all ingredients except cheese in a mixing bowl.
- Mix well, then spread filling into pie shell.
- Bake in a moderate (220°-230°C) oven for 45 minutes.
- Remove from oven, arrange grated cheese on top, and return to oven until cheese melts.
